Transcriptomic and immunophenotypic profiling of peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) from pediatric uveitis patients

Brief description of study

The purpose of this study is to learn why some children develop uveitis, a serious eye condition that can cause inflammation and vision loss, and to understand how the immune system behaves in children with and without this disease. This study will study blood, tear fluid, and other samples to look closely at the immune cells and genes that may cause eye inflammation. By comparing children who have uveitis with children who have juvenile arthritis without uveitis and children who are completely healthy, the study hopes to discover patterns in the immune system that can help doctors diagnose uveitis earlier and choose better treatments in the future.

This primary aim of this study is to use advanced techniques to analyze immune cells in the blood of children with uveitis to identify the specific cells causing inflammation and eye damage.
