Study Assessing the Individual Risk of Cardiovascular Events Through Blood Test for Platelet Reactivity

Brief description of study

This observational study will assesses the individual risk for cardiovascular events after a heart attack. In men and women hospitalized for a heart attack with additional risk factors, a single blood draw will be taken in the hospital prior to discharge. The blood will be tests for platelet reactivity which is shown by the expression of Platelet FcGammaRIIa. Following discharge the patient will be followed up by phone call every 6 months for 2 years and a final phone call after all patients have been enrolled.

There are no interventions in this study.
